We are happy to inform you that today in Australia, the Minister for Resources and Northern Australia, the Hon Matt Canavan publicly announced the release of the Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) Trial economic benefits analysis report. Land Information New Zealand will also release the Report in New Zealand. It found significant economic benefits with expected value of $7.4b for Australia and New Zealand.
FrontierSI is also delighted to release the accompanying Project report and Technical Report. You can download them from our website using this link https://frontiersi.com.au/project/satellite-based-augmentation-system-test-bed/.
This report is the culmination of the work of many people over the last few years and I’d like to thank you all for participation in the SBAS test-bed and for all the input you provided for economic benefits analysis. The test-bed has been a huge success and we really appreciate all the effort you put in to make it happen.
On behalf of the extended SBAS team of myself, Julia, Imogen, Nuddin, Chris, Jenny and Lachlan I’d like to thank you again and please do not hesitate to get in touch with me on any SBAS-related matters.
Pleasingly for those of you who don’t already know, the SBAS test transmission service has been extended through to July 31 2020. The continuity of the SBAS signals provides a basis to continue with further research and development, and provides the necessary infrastructure to continue industry testing and facilitate early adoption. We are delighted to have a continuing involvement in supporting further industry trial projects and would welcome approaches from you with ideas for further testing.
